91, passed away Jan. 4, 2016. She was born in Beech Grove, IN. to the late Clarence and Marie Hunter.
Lila graduated from Beech Grove High School in 1942 and attended Butler University. She was a president of Indiana Poetry Society, member of Beech Grove Historical Society, and a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Beech Grove. Lila retired from the City of Beech Grove where she was a Clerk.
She is survived by her son Mark S. Hopkins; daughter Diane Mello; grandchildren Dawn Hudgins and Rob Mello; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and sister Lois Burkhart.
Lila was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Spangler Hopkins and brother Howard Laughlin Hunter.
Visitation will be Friday Jan. 15th from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel with a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the funeral home.
