John is survived by his father John McKenna; his stepmother Martha McKenna, his stepbrother Cameron (Melissa) Dobson, and his aunt Judy Bremer. John was preceded in death by his mother Patricia McKenna.
John was a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, where he obtained his degree in Optometry. In 2005, John purchased an optometry practice in Indianapolis, Indiana- McKenna Family Eye. He proudly served his community until its closure.
John enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time at Botanical Gardens at Garfield Park. He had many friends that will dearly miss him.
A memorial service for John will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Crossroads Baptist Church, 1120 S Arlington Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana, with a meal to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations be made to Crossroads Baptist Church.
