Harold "Andy" Sauer, age 80, of Flat Rock, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022. Andy was born August 25, 1941 in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Mary Esther (Greenen) Sauer and Harold A. Sauer. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Anthony J. "Tony" Sauer and grandson, Ethan Schwartz. Andy was born and raised in Beech Grove and graduated from Sacred Heart before earning his bachelor's degree at Marian University. He was a member of the Indiana Blacksmith's Association and loved to make all kinds of things and collected all sorts of tools. He enjoyed all kinds of music, especially Bluegrass and dancing. Andy always looked forward to the annual family Thanksgiving gathering of upwards of 80 people that was over 50 years strong.
He is survived by his wife, Leta (Wilson) Sauer; children, Dennis Sauer, Christine Schwartz (Charles), Kevin Sauer, and Becky Coutinho (Luis); step child, Jonathan Fogleman; sister, Nancy Keene (Ken); 7 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation for Andy will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.
He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana at a later time.
