Cleo Howard, 82, lost his battle with cancer peacefully at home with his family at his side on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Beech Grove, Indiana. He was born on September 19, 1930 in Mud Lick, Kentucky to Marlin and Gladys (Gentry) Howard. On March 17, 1950 he married Donnie Pruitt in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, who survives. Cleo retired as the owner of Howard’s Body Shop. He was inducted into the Little League Hall of Fame as the longest sponsor of a Little League team. Survivors include his wife and four children: Diana (Fred) Armstrong, Steve (Amy) Howard, Richard (Kim) Howard, and Derek (Pam) Howard. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brother Clinton (Lorrinne) Howard and sister Rose Marie (Jasper) Grubb. Calling with be held at Little & Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 600 Beacon Parkway West, Suite 860, Birmingham, Alabama 35209.
