William Joseph Goode of Beckley went home to the peace of his Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. William was born May 11, 1979, and was the son of Bill and Carolyn Goode who were proud of the man he became. William’s passion for helping those around him was evident to everyone who knew him. He served as a Physician’s Assistant caring for inmates at FCI McDowell, and that love and care spilled over into using his vacation time for medical missions, traveling and helping those in impoverished parts of the globe. He stepped into delicate and challenging situations fearlessly whenever there was an opportunity to help.
This passion was rooted in William’s love for his wife, Amy, and their daughters, Hannah and Abby. He was a committed husband, sharing a love of running and exercising with Amy, and supporting his daughter’s in volleyball, softball, and life. He also served his church, Faith Community Church, on the worship team, Pastor’s Council, and mission team. He loved his CrossFit Coal community as well, and the sincere friendship and love found in these relationships has been a great comfort for the family during this difficult time.
William’s life experience, dry sense of humor, competence, and love for people brought joy to everyone around him. To say that he was loved and will be missed is a profound understatement.
Those looking forward to reuniting with him in the Lord’s presence in addition to his wife, daughters, and parents are his sister, Amy, grandmother, Margaret, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Those who have gone on before are his granddad, Cecil, and grandparents, Virgil and Linda Lambert.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Community Church, 299 Grey Flats Rd, Beckley on Tuesday, April 2 with visitation from 4:00-6:00pm and service at 6:00pm.
