Warren was born in North Carolina in 1934 to Grant and Florence Davis, one of their thirteen children together. Warren overcome polio as a child with the care and support of his beloved older sister Beulah “Boots” Cochran, and went on to live an active life. He played basketball at his alma mater, Greenville High School. An avid outdoorsman, he spent much of his free time hunting deer and turkey and fishing throughout West Virginia. He enjoyed a long and successful career as an insurance salesman in the region.
Warren married his first wife and high school sweetheart, Bonnie Lou Wickline, in 1953 in Monroe County, West Virginia. Together they had three daughters, Sandra, Tresa, and Cynthia. He was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Davis, J.C. Davis, Ralph Davis, Clarence Davis, Joe Davis, Leonard Davis, and Elworth Davis; his sisters Beulah Cochran, Opal Canaday and Mae Blevins; his wives Bonnie Davis and Lois Davis; and his daughter, Sandra Thomas.
He is survived by his sister, Patsy Bennet of Lerona, WV; his daughters and sons-in-law David Thomas of Charleston, WV, Steve Weir and Tresa Davis-Weir of Charleston, WV, and Rudy and Cynthia King of Concord, NC; as well as his three grandchildren, Frank Andrew Thomas of Atlanta, GA, Wells Christian King of Washington, D.C., and Crandall Davis King of Concord, NC. Companion and caregiver Crystal Graham.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 12 PM until the time of the service. Following the services Warren will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his name to Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
