Ward Earl Williams

Ward Earl Williams was born May 10, 1924 at Mulberry, WV. He was the son of the late Alvie and Maudie Williams.

Ward went home to be with God on October 18, 2014 at home at Clear Creek, WV.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Williams after 65 years of marriage; 2 great-grandchildren, Timmy Williams, Jr. and Marisa Williams; 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

Ward attended the Artie Church of God. He was a coal miner for 34 years and a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his son, son-in-laws, and grandsons. He would even take his granddaughters squirrel hunting and try hard to keep them quiet. He also enjoyed planting his garden and riding his 4-wheeler through the woods. He will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, son, Lawson and wife Linda Williams of Oak Hill, WV; daughters, Dottie and Rosie Holstein of Eccles, WV, Darlene and Gary Williams of Clear Creek, WV and Noretta and Woody Scarbro of Clear Creek, WV; sister, Orpha Collins of OH; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; also a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Jerry Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be members of the family.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
