Virginia “Becky” Rebecca Legg, age 83, of Bradley went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 26, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Reed) Blackburn and born on June 20, 1936 in Mill Creek, WV.
Becky leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 63 years, Daniel Legg; daughters Ann Cook, Janie Dickens, and Kelly (Mark) Cline; grandchildren Leslie Barley, Toni Cook, Shane Dickens, Brennan Cook, Tanaya Daniels, Seth Dickens, Heath Lafferty, Kiara Cline, and Alayna Cline; honorary grandchildren Erin Hicks and Colin Terry; great-grandchildren Devon Daniels, Kinley Cook, Titus Dickens, Addyson Dickens, Jase Dickens, Avery Daniels, Rowan Cook, and Maverick Barley; sister Maxine (Charles) Bennett; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. Becky is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Mary Lynn Legg; brother Freddie Blackburn; and sister Louise Salser.
Becky has been a dedicated member of Bradley Freewill Baptist Church for over 30 years. Her passions in life were her faith and family. She loved listening to gospel music, having her family nearby, and collecting $2 bills and bicentennial quarters. She loved telling stories about things that happened when their singing group traveled to sing in church, like the time when they opened their song book and glass fell out after accidentally blowing out a car window with a fire cracker. This first-class prankster didn't like being the center of attention except when she was tricking someone, but she would take center stage to fight for her those she cared for. And she loved giving daddy grief over his addiction to McDonald’s coffee.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastors Al Whitt, Wayne Peters, and Jim Bowyer officiating. Becky will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Her grandsons, honorary grandson, and her grandsons-in-law have the honor of serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia. Please visit www.blueridgefuneralhome.com to leave a condolence to the family. Blue Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
