Sharon Gillespie

Born June 25th, 1947 in Mullens, WV, she was the daughter of the late Alvis Graham Spade Sr. from Hinton, WV and Betty (Brammer) Spade of Mullens, WV.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Vickie Spade-Siers and a brother, Alvis “Dink” Spade.

Mrs. Gillespie was a member of Perry Memorial United Methodist Church, of Shady Spring, WV. She attended Mullens High School and was a licensed Cosmetologist. She was a Hair Stylist for over 40 years, and was the Owner/Operator of Sharon’s Beauty Shop in Mullens, WV and Techni-Cuts in Beaver and Shady Springs.

She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Jessie Gillespie; two sons, Shawn Gillespie and his wife Nichole of Mullens, WV and Kenneth Gillespie and his wife Connie of Princeton, WV; one brother-in-law, John Gillespie of Jacksonville, FL; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Tucker of Raleigh , NC, Shawn Gillespie II of Charlotte, NC, Mary Powell of Cincinnati, OH, Kaitlyn (Katie-Bug) Blair of Daniels, WV, Carrie Laxton of Pineville, WV, Heather Laird of Dixie, MS, Meaghan Lane, Nick Gillespie, Ashlyn Gillespie, and Emily Blair, all of Mullens, WV; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Anderson, Luke, Naomi, Oliver, Ace, Audrie, Lincoln, Lynleigh and Will of whom she loved dearly, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her four-legged family members, Maxie, Pepper, Clutch, Abby, Mickey, Tazz, Tabby, Prissy, Symbia, and Al.

Pallbearers will be Chris Blair, Matt Lane, Braden Powell, Nick Gillespie, Shawn Gillespie II, Brian Siers, Mike Spade and Arlon Courington.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Adkins, Gary Poindexter, Dicky Weaver, Nick Tucker and Joe Frye.

Funeral Services for Sharon will be on Friday, April 12th, 2024 at 12 PM with Pastor Rick Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
