Roy R. Tyree, 77 of Midway, went to be with the Lord and Bonnie on July 7, 2019. He was born on Jan 13, 1942 to the late William Franklin and Nellie (Farmer) Tyree in Beckley, WV. Roy enjoyed traveling and spent his winters in Florida. He spent a large part of his life as a pastor at Church of God, Tams, WV and he was a jack of all trades. He was a great mentor to all that knew him. He was a proud owner of Bonnie Lou’s Flea Market in Mount Airy, NC with the love his life.
Roy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Yvonne (Miller) Tyree; son Mark Tyree; and his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his children Roger (Barbara) Tyree and Lisa (Lewis) Hodge; grandchildren Angela (Daniel) Harmon, Christina (Shawn) Arrington, Michael (Randi) Cozart, Ashley (Chris) Halvorson, and Marcus (Destiny) Tyree; great grandchildren Bryson, Kinsley, Brayden, Macie, Colton, Kaleigh, Michael III, Noah, Aaron, Alex, and Klay; sister Agnes Mildred Hughes; and many nieces, nephews, and friends whom will miss him dearly. Chris Halvorson, Daniel Harmon, Christopher James, Shawn Arrington, Herbert Inscoe, and Herman Hurst will be serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 11 am-1 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00. Roy will be laid to rest beside his dear wife following services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.blueridgefuneralhome.com.
