Rodney Lee Acord

Rodney Lee Acord, 61, of Charleston/Glen White, passed away on August 5, 2016. Born, July 25, 1955, he was the son of Myrtle Richards and the late Leonard Acord. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sylvia Cochran, and his brother, Arnold Acord. Rodney loved to travel. He enjoyed hitchhiking around the country, but finally settled in Charleston with his beloved wife, Sylvia. Those left to cherish Rodney’s memory include his mother, Myrtle Richards; son, John Acord of Beckley; brothers: Lawrence Richards and wife Beth Halsey of Beckley, Leonard Acord Jr. of Odd, Jeffrey Acord of Hinton; sister: Stella and husband Rodger Asbury of Beckley, Wilma and husband Donald Ward of Ghent, and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A celebration of Rodney's life will be held at Lester First Church of God on August 16, 2016 at 11am. The church is located at 260 2nd Ave, Lester, WV.
