He was a 1952 graduate of Marsh Fork High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with endorsements in biological, general, and physical sciences from Concord College in 1956. His continuing education was at Atlanta University. Robin taught for 10 years in Raleigh County Schools, then relocated to Chamblee, GA where he taught for 25 years at Chamblee High School; he also taught for 17 years in Dekalb County Summer Programs. Robin was the Chairman of the Science Department during most of those years. He was a US Army Veteran, serving 18 months in Germany, a faithful supporter of Veteran's programs and charities; a member of the Marsh Fork Presbyterian Church and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
After he and his wife, Patricia, retired they returned to Beaver, WV and were members of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Shady Spring. Robin was a member and Past Master of Sugarloaf Lodge, Number 414 in Heber Springs and a member of the Royal Arch Masons, Past Commander Knights Templar of Scottish Rites. From 2001-2002 he was Worthy Grand Patron of West Virginia Order of Eastern Star. Robin was a life member of the NRA who loved cars and was an avid reader, a quality he instilled in his younger siblings and family.
Robin was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Patricia Massey Bellott Jarrell; his parents, and sister, JoAnn Jarrell Morris.
Robin is survived by his blended family of children, Deborah Stroup, with whom he resided for the past years in Winder, GA and Andrea Horne and husband, Tim, and Julie Klein all of GA, Lynn Bellott, Taylor Bellott and wife, Brenda, and Steve Bellott all of Arkansas; his brothers, Percy R. Jarrell and wife, Judy of Boomer, WV, Billy R. Jarrell and wife, Virginia of Parkersburg, WV; and sisters, Jane Jarrell Almond and husband, John, and Jean Jarrell Wright, all of Beckley; nephews, nieces, and 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, many cousins and extended family and friends. We must mention his constant companion, a little Chihuahua named Cricket. She shared in happiness and griefs. She is now a resident of Beckley.
In keeping with his wishes, Robin was cremated. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00PM Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum #4, the chapel of Hope with Pastor Terry Layton officiating. With Masonic Graveside Rites.
