Robert Glen Stiles

Robert Glen Stiles, 81, of Sophia, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at the Bowers Hospice House following a short illness.

He was born on March 22, 1940 in Glen Fork, WV, son of the late Thomas Sylvester and Marie A. Minton Stiles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Judy Rose; a son, Joseph M. Stiles and a grandson, Octavion Stiles of Beckley; two sisters-in-law, Marie Stiles of Glen Fork and Margie Stiles of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. He was a member of UMWA Local 6608 and a retiree from Peabody Coal.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs. He loved walking to the Post Office with his loyal Collie, Penny.

Special thanks to his caregivers, Ruth, Mary and Nancy, the staff at Bowers House for their kindness and wonderful care. Thanks also to the special love and kindness shown by the neighbors of Robert and Judy, your kindness made our lives so much easier.

Graveside rites will be held 3:00PM Friday, September 10, 2021 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum Chapel of Peace, Beckley, with burial to follow.
