Peggy A. Jones

Peggy A. Jones, 73, of Scarbro, went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2021.

Born July 24, 1947 in Rich Creek, VA; she was a daughter of the late Willis C. Gullian, the late, Jennie Lou Jones Crotty, Stella Ruth Atwood and step-daughter of Oscar Atwood.

Peggy was a member of the Pentecostals of Mt. Hope Church; she loved going to church, reading the Bible, listening to Christian music, crocheting, shopping, baking, and being a grandmother. Peggy was a hairdresser and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kester Columbus Jones and a son, Kester Columbus Jones, II.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Jeffrey S. Ayers and wife, Martha of Kenosha, WI; a daughter, Jeri Light and husband, Frankie of Fayetteville; and Jami Michelle Evans of Scarbro; grandchildren, Breanna Ayers, Haley Ayers, Jacob Ayers, and Olivia Ayers, Destiney Evans, Nicholas Evans, and Brooklyn Jordan; a sister, Diane Sheets of Mt Hope and a brother, John Atwood of Beckley; extended family, her church family, and numerous friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Peggy A. Jones will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Pentecostals of Mt. Hope Church, 316 Kilsyth Road Mt. Hope, WV with Pastor Lloyd Hart officiating. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated.
