Paul “Lantz” Hess, 61, of Fayetteville, WV passed away on March 23, 2021, at his home after a well-fought battle with cancer. He was born on July 29, 1959, in Huntington, WV to Paul E. Hess Jr. and Helen Carol Lantz Hess.
Lantz was VP and part-owner of Creative Exteriors for 32 years. He graduated from Oak Hill High School and was inducted into the OHHS Sports Hall of Fame. Lantz enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his bird dogs, and time at his farm in Monroe County.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Hess Jr.; and brother, David Barker Hess.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 41 years, Cindy Hess; son, Stephen Hess and wife Babette and their children, Kolton, Greyson, Bowen, Hudson, and Helen Nova; daughter, Laura Kiliany and husband Chris and their children, Landon and Tripton; mother, Helen Carol Hess; sister, Terry Sauvageot and husband Mike; sisters-in-law, Trudy Hess and Tammy Welch; and special nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 1:00 pm. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 – 1:00.
Bill Berry, Greg Bell, Mike Perdue, Tommy Hess, Bill Scott, and Mark Painter will serve as pallbearers. Kolton Hess and Landon Kiliany will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Paul E. Hess Memorial College Fund PO Box 217, Hinton, WV 25951 or WV Kids Cancer Crusaders, PO Box 11029, Charleston, WV 25339.
In keeping with current CDC guidelines, all guests must wear facial coverings at all times within the facility.
