Merendie Lea (Chaffin) Adkins

Merendie Lea Chaffin Adkins, 94, of Dublin, Virginia and formerly of Pierpoint, West Virginia passed away on August 10, 2022. Merendie was born in West Virginia to the late Hayes and Dessie Lowe Chaffin. She was a member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church in Fairlawn, Virginia.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers George, Bob and William Chaffin; her sisters Annise Accord and Naomi Barrett; her husband Rev. Dallas C. Adkins; son Bobby Ray Adkins; daughter Barbara Lea Adkins Phillips; grandson John Vernon Adkins and granddaughter Alicia Faye Adkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son George Vernon (Dorothy) Adkins, her son Carlton (Wendy) Adkins and her daughter, Michele Wikel Adkins. She leaves 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted on August 20, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, West Virginia with the Rev. Butch Accord officiating.
