Maxine Opal Brown Harding, 87, of Oak Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2022 at home.
Born March 13, 1935 in Bridgeport, WV; she was a daughter of the late Jennings T. Brown and the late Nellie Munday Brown.
Maxine loved listening to music and scripture, going to church and being surrounded by family. Though legally blind for over 40 years she continued to live independently, enjoyed walking, listening to birds, and traveling until her recent illnesses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Ruby Cunningham Brown; her loving husband, William Henry Harding, Sr; sisters, Pauline Matthey, Genevieve Moore, Shirley Howell, Norma Ott, and little Maryln Brown; son, Quentin C. Harding; and a grandson, Rory Cameron Harding.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving sister, Donna Lake; sons, William Henry Harding, Jr., Roger L. Harding and wife, Angela, Fredrick T. Harding; special extended family members, Margaret, Tina, and Melinda; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Maxine Opal Brown Harding will be held 2:00PM Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, Oak Hill (at the corner of Blackburn Street and Terry Avenue) with her son, Pastor Roger Harding officiating. Maxine will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, William at the Dalton Community Cemetery, Dalton, Ohio.
Friends may gather with the family from 12:30PM until time of the service Thursday at the church.
