Mary Wills

She was born in Terra Alta, WV, on February 19th, 1938 to the late Howard and Sylvia Plum of Morgantown, WV.

Mary graduated from Kingwood High School. After graduation, Mary married Lester Pennington on June 22nd, 1963, and were married for 27 years. After Lester’s death, she then met and married Lawrence Wills, and were married for 7 years.

Mary worked as a Hallmark Card Associate for 12 years. She enjoyed reading her KJV Bible and spending time with her family, whom she loved and adored with all her heart. She was actively involved in the Women’s Circle at her church and sung in the choir. Mary especially loved to watch her two great-grandsons, Logan and Caleb playing sports. She also loved spending time with her fur-baby, Angel.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Pennington; second husband Lawrence Wills; infant son, Robert Leon; and a daughter, Joyce Ann Sassi.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Taylor (Terry) of Midway, Linda Pennington of Holiday, Fl., Becky Moye (Ricky) of Lester; grandchildren, Michelle Dunn (Daniel) of Beckley, Julie Taylor of Midway; great-grandchildren, Logan Dunn of Beckley, Caleb Taylor of Midway; a sister, Sylvia Ann Sulem of Chicago Il., as well as many other family members.

There will be a funeral service for Mary on Friday, January 26th, 2024 at 1PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, with Pastor Wade Samples of Hilltop Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11AM the same day. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

The family has entrusted Blue Ridge Funeral Home with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bowers Hospice House or Gideons International. The family of Mary Wills wishes to thank all who called, visited, sent cards, and most of all, those who prayed for her. She will be missed!
