Mary Catherine Jones Thompson passed away on January 5, 2018. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord Christ Jesus because of this she longed for this day to behold the face of our Lord and Savior.
Born December 22, 1943 to the late Oscar Marion Jones and Daisy Mary Kincaid Jones. Also preceded in death, her husband of 42 years, Edward Dean Thompson; sons Matthew Thompson and David Dean Cook, and her granddaughter Angela M. Pittman.
Those left to cherish her memory is her son Mark Edward Thompson and his wife Gleada Faye Prater Thompson, grandchildren Brandon James Thompson, Ashley Marie Thompson Biggs and her husband Jarred, Crystal Joyce Pittman Williamson and her husband Ed, 7 great grandchildren, sisters Pauline Tucker and Susie Metrick, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She lived in Beckley at Wildwood House Apartments since 2004 where she made many precious friends and loved ones. A special thank you to her long-time friend and care provider Angie Domingues.
Cathy enjoyed helping people and she showed her caring side by working at Dairy Queen serving others, The Glass House, and selling Avon to her friends and family. She was known by her nickname “Mary Kay” by many. Cathy was a wonderful caregiver to her family and always made the complicated look simple and was an awesome homemaker.
