He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force the retired from Appalachian Hospital Beckley after 20 years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Athlene (Farley) Long of Coal City, WV and his children; Tresia Mason (Mike) of Coal City, WV, Tina Pittman of Florida, Alan Long (Lisa) of Charleston, WV, Redina Long of Virginia.
He has 8 grandchildren whom he loved very much, Bryana, Amberly, Holly, Julie, LeighAnn, Travis, Forest, Camron; and a step-grandson, Mathew; 5 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Cody, Katlin, Brook, Eli, Colten, and Leetha; along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Funeral service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Friends may gather with the family from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
