Linda Sue Halstead

Linda Sue Halstead, 81, of Nimitz, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 12th 2021 at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on October 3rd, 1939, at Blue Jay, WV and was the daughter of the late David Hatcher and Belva McKinney-Hatcher.

Linda started her own personal care home named Halstead's Family Care home in 1983 and was a staple to the community that she loved. Linda was passionate about gardening, sewing and reading; she also had a tremendous unconditional love for her family and a flair for spoiling her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Halstead.

She is survived by sons Roger L. Breeding (Kim) of Leicester N.C., Lewis E. Halstead (Cynthia) of Walkertown, NC.; a daughter, Lori Ann Bower (Lee) of Nimitz, WV.; grandchildren, Amber Swymer (Nate) of Harriman TN, Hailey Breeding of Leicester NC, Samantha and Kate Halstead of Walkertown NC, Austin Bower (Adreana) of Nimitz WV; Michaela Bower of Nimitz WV; 2 great-grandsons, Adien and Waylon Bower; several brothers, one sister, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 19th at 1pm at Blue Ridge Funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
