Lennie "Jean" I. Blake

Born on February 2, 1936 in Elverton, WV; she was the daughter of the late William C. Blevins and Cleo Oma Hurst Blevins.

Jean as she was known by her family and friends was a retired dietician technician at ARH. Jean then went on to assist with the in home care giving.

Jean was of the Baptist faith and she was a member of the Quinnimont Missionary Baptist Church; she was an avid reader, loved to crochet, working puzzels, read and play piano in her spare time before her illness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woody; a son, Larry Smith, a daughter, Rachel Reich, a grandson, Wayne Reich; four brothers, Ezra, Gerrald, Rodney, Harley; two sisters, Christine Kincaid and Eleanor Forren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter and caregiver, Stephanie and Leroy Collins of Piney View, Woody and Maya Blake of East Bend, NC, Carol and Jerry Baker of Alderson, WV, Mike Smith of Alderson, WV, Sarith and Charles (Sweety) Ercoline of Huntington, MD, Karen and Carl (Capn) Bowyer of Alderson, WV, Gwenda and Donna Pinela of Tucson, AZ, Donna and Jimmy Ratcliff of Beckley, Catrina Smith of Clintonville, WV, son- in-law, Dathan Reich of Louisville, NC; 20 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Julie Maleltte, Henry (Barbara) Blevins, Ailene (Noris) Johnson, Ralph (Sharon) Blevins, Rondal (Arlene) Blevins, Darlene (Mike) Willis; two sister-in-laws, Carol Blevins and Barbara Blevins; and special friend, Kenny Mae Warner.

Services to celebrate the life of Lennie I. Blake will be held 1:00PM Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Rev. Jesse Baker officiating. Following the services Jean will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Her grandchildren will have the honor to serve as pallbearers.

Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
