Larry Brock McKinney

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet McKinney; son, Patrick McKinney and wife, Debbie; daughter, Krista Piercy and husband, Jerry; three grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Janzen McKinney, Carson McKinney and Haley Piercy; mother-in-law, Juanita Murphy; sister, Lorraine McKinney of St. Cloud, FL; and a host of family and many friends.

Larry was a Marine Corp Veteran having served with the 3rd Marine Corp Recon Battalion in Vietnam where he was the recipient of many medals for his courage and bravery. He loved his Recon buddies who have remained close throughout the years. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi.

He worked in the mines for many years at Elk Run Coal Company and Cline Resources before opening Brock Mining, where his employees always came first.

Larry was an angel to many here on earth, and now he is our angel still watching over us.

A visitation will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12:30 PM, in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home. A Military graveside service will follow on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Raleigh County Animal Shelter, 325 Grey Flats Rd., Beckley, WV 25801 or the Humane Society of the donor's choice.
