Keith was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and served his country with great pride. After his military service, he worked in procurement management for 50 plus years. During his illustrious career, he was employed at Maple Meadow division of Cannelton Industries, as well as Steel Con in Beckley.
Keith’s life revolved around his family. He never missed a beat with his grandchildren and took pride at watching all their sporting events. Keith loved his daughter and they had a tremendous loving bond. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Keith was known for his funny sense of humor, and his generosity to others. His big heart was unexplainable and he was known for that. Two of his greatest passions include Elvis, and Virginia Tech football. Keith was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by an infant brother, Garland Roger Yates.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife JoAnn Yates; his only daughter, Angela Dawn Cowger (Mark); grandsons Keith Carter (Sabrina), Ryan Carter, and Joseph Cowger; sister, Connie Roberts; several nieces and nephews; and his special grand dog, Buddy.
