Joyce Caroline Hodge

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Thelma (Hamilton) Thompson, step-mother Prunie Thompson, husbands John Click and Len Hodge, brothers Bill and Ronnie Thompson, sister Juanita (Thompson) Cooley, half-brother Bob Thompson, granddaughter Trena (Stover) Toney, great-grandson Timothy John Click-Trump, foster sons Ricky Carr, Ellis Chaffin and David Adkins.

Survivors are children, Carrie (Click) Toney, Peterstown, WV, John (Sharon) Click, Clear Creek, WV, Dinah (Hodge) Basil Weaver, Daniels, WV, Lenny (Jane) Hodge, Artie, WV. Jennifer (Chuck) Stewart, Sophia, WV, Joyce Ann (Hodge) Newman/partner Mike Thomas, Stanaford, WV, Philip (Marcella) Ryder, Clear Creek, WV, Brenda (Perkins) Carter Stover, Clear Creek, WV, half-sister Jean (Thompson) Boyd Williams, Artie, WV, half-sister Margie (Thompson) Kenny Estep, Ameagle, WV, half-brother Danny (Mae) Thompson, Dorothy, WV, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Joyce who was known as Mom, Mamaw, Mamaw Hodge and Mamaw Joyce was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was a loving wife and mother, a waitress in her early years, a foster mother to many, later years a cook at Bob Evans. Her hobbies were yard sales, cooking and watching WVU football games. She enjoyed all of her family gatherings while sitting on her front porch having company and watching her great-grandbabies play. She was very religious and was praising God and singing hymns her last days. Her family will forever keep her memory alive with fun stories and happy memories. She was the last of her generation, a very beautiful, strong-willed woman the last of her kind.

Funeral service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm. with Pastor Jerry Tyree officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
