on Monday November 14th ,2022.
Joan was born May 7th, 1931 to the late John and Pearl Holcomb of Glen Jean, West Virginia.
She worked at Beckley Veterans Hospital for many years where she was a medical transcriptionist.
Joan was a member of Glen Jean Union Church where she enjoyed attending church with her family and friends. Joan never met a stranger and enjoyed talking with everyone she met. She had a bright and cheerful personality and her sense of humor and wit always had you laughing. She loved being home and sitting on her porch visiting with friends and neighbors.
Joan had a great love of animals and had many pets throughout her life. Joan was a master of quilting
and needlepoint and would give her works as gifts to all. She was a self-taught musician and played
many musical instruments and sang like an angel. She also enjoyed fishing and camping with her
husband. Because of her short stature, she was known to her grandkids as “Little Nanny” and she would
always tell you goodbye by saying “Love to Love you.”
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her dear husband Cecil Walker, her sister
Mildred Ann Altizer, her nephew Douglas Altizer, and step-son Mark Walker.
Those left to cherish Joan’s memory include her loving sons Daniel Kevin Donnelly and wife Pam and her son Michael Anthony Donnelly and Laurie Anuszkiewicz.
Her 8 grandchildren Amy (Johnny) Ince, Angela (Jason) Keffer , Michael (Emily) Donnelly Jr., Jami (Nick) Stafford , Danny (Ashlei) Donnelly, Jared (Amanda) Donnelly and her 20 great grandchildren.
Her stepchildren Wayne Walker, Joellen Harp, Mary Deering, Nona Walker, niece Mildred Neff,
and her faithful, loving dog Katie.
We love to love you little Nanny.
