James Kenneth Salter

Kenneth was a US Navy Veteran, where he served during WWII and the Korean War, after serving his country he received a Masters in Safety from Marshall University. He worked as a Federal Mine Inspector for over 20 years. He loved hunting and sports of all kinds, was a member of the Whitesville Masonic Lodge #162 for 50+ years, and a member of the American Legion.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Billie Jean Salter, Robert Earl Salter, and sisters; Doris Marcum and Jo Ann Jones.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Uva Mae Salter, a son William K. Salter and wife Nancy of Barboursville WV, grandson Kenny Salter and wife Meghan of Huntington WV, a sister Claudetta Johnson of Louisa KY, two brothers; Darrel Salter and wife Karen of Charlotte NC, and Hobart Mack and wife Rita of Alum Creek WV.

Graveside rites will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 2 PM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Mausoleum #2 "Peace" with Pastor David Williams officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family would like any donations made in Kenneths' name be sent to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, Carl Larson Cancer Center, or the Beckley VFW Post 32.
