James "Jimmy" Glen Kirk

James Glen "Jimmy" Kirk, age 77, of Morgantown, West Virginia passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. Born November 25, 1945 in Beckley; he was the son of the late James Pugh Kirk and the late Leona Gadd Kirk.

When Jimmy's health allowed he loved to hunt and fish; he was a former Volunteer Fireman in Mabscott and at one time served as chief; he loved talking about old times and was a wonderful story teller. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson in 1963. Jimmy worked for the FBI for 13 years and worked for WSWP TV for over 20 years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Vanessa Kirk of Morgantown; daughter, Stacy Downey and husband, Brandon of Morgantown; his son, James Gregory "Greg" Kirk, who passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023; grandchildren, Aydan, Katilynn, and Mallory Downey of Morgantown, and Cole Kirk of Beckley; daughter-in-law, Portia Kirk of Pineville; two sisters, Kitty Mooney of Beckley and Connie Reno of Beckley; several nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends; and not to forget Ambrose and Cleo his grand-cats.

Private Graveside Rites will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley with burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your local fire department in his honor.
