Jack was born to the late Irene Plumley Phillips in Piney Creek, WV. Jack was also especially close with his late grandmother Bertha Plumley. Jack was married to Ruby Ann Hendricks (Weis) for 58 years and served in the US Army in his young life before going on to work in early computer engineering. They lived briefly in New York before returning to the mountains of West Virginia with their children.
Big Jack was an unforgettable man who was beloved by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He showed his love to his granddaughters by teaching them all to play poker and letting them win often. He is survived by his wife Ruby Hendricks, son Jackie Hendricks, daughter Tammy Korniotes, granddaughters Jessica, Katherine, and Laura Korniotes, and great grandsons Ryder and Louis. Jack was preceded in death by his son Teddy Hendricks.
We all have our own colorful and cherished memories of Jack. Family would be honored to share them at a small memorial to be held at Terry Independent Church on Friday, July 24 at 1 pm. Masks requested and available.
