Born July 20, 1939 in Pax, WV; she was the daughter of the late Hosmer Eugene Scott, Jr and Myrtle Madeline Williams Scott Aliff. She was raised by her late grandparents, Edgar Ray and Hallie Williams.
Gretna was a member of the Moose Lodge and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Leonard Adkins; sister, Debra Sue Meadows.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Michelle Adkins of Lost Creek; sister, Anita Williams and husband, Roger of Covington, VA; brother, Wayne Kescle Aliff of Beckley; sister, Venetta Broyles of Beckley; brother, James Aliff and wife, Sandy of Prosperity; aunt, Louisa “Coots” Mobley of Maple Fork; several nieces, nephews, extended family and others that will miss her dearly.
Services to celebrate the life of Gretna Jean Adkins will be held 1:00PM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C Byrd Drive, Beckley with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. Following the services, Gretna will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Elmer at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
