Gary Elden Williams

Gary E. Williams, 76, was born on March 19, 1939 in Ameagle, WV. He went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2015 surrounded by family and friends in his home. Gary was the son of the late Arnett and Ella Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Timmy Williams, Jr. and Marisa Williams. Gary attended the Artie Church of God and was a retired Coal Miner. God and his family were the most important things in his life. He loved to hunt and fish with his family and friends. He also enjoyed sports, car racing, camping, ginsenging, picking greens, cutting wood, and just being in the outdoors. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 53 years, Darlene Williams; three sons, Bo Williams and wife, Nancy, Timmy Williams and wife, Janet, and Sammy Williams and his companion, Melony; two daughters, Donna and companion, Tommy, and Deanna and husband, Billy Dick; eight grandchildren that he adored, Jake, April, Stacy, Janette, Samantha, Brittany, Carla, and Skid; eight great-grandchildren that were the loves of his life, Alex, Clayton, Caylee, Jacob, William, Jace, Jadah, and Carson; six brothers and four sisters, all of Michigan, Alden Williams and wife, Michelle, Kennith Williams and wife, Pat, Doug Williams and wife, Kathy, Jr. Williams and wife, JoAnn, Dennis Williams, Lowell Williams, Greta Peterson and husband, Chuck, Almeda Overmeyer, Judith Cornell, and Sandra Borton; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Services to honor Gary’s memory will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 2pm with Reverend Jerry Lawrence officiating. Family will receive guests on Thursday prior to the service from 12pm – 2pm. Interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the services with James Williams, John Williams, Richard Williams, Ricky Brown, Derek Brown, and Eddie Toney serving as pallbearers.
