Born in Mt. Hope on March 10th, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Lonnie Plumley and Lottie Bennett-Plumley.
Having a wonderful and outgoing personality, Emmie spent much of her life as a sales rep for Avon and Mary Kay, whom her customers adored. Above all, she was known for providing a loving home to her family, who cherished her more than anything. She was a remarkable mother, caring wife, and loving grandmother. Emmie was a member of The Gospel Chapel in Daniels. She was loved by all who met her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Franklin Eugene Cooper; a great-great grandson; and by a son-in-law, Jack L. James Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Ronnie (Debbie) Cooper of Beaver, Karen James (Ray Buckland) of North Sand Branch, Randall (Denise) Cooper of Florida, and Keith (Melissa) Cooper of Beckley; 2 siblings, Emmett (Patty) Plumley of North Sand Branch, and Hattie (Dude) Williams of Covington Va.; she is also survived by her special friend, Bob Henshew of Danese, and her loving pet, Cinnamon of 14 years.
Funeral services for Emmie will be on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 at 1PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Adams, and Pastor Luke Richmond officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, January 8th, 2024 from 6PM to 8PM. Burial will follow the funeral on Tuesday.
