Edgar Paul Jenkins Jr.

Edgar Paul (Eddie) Jenkins, Jr. 75 years old of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away from this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was born April 12, 1941 in Eccles, WV to parents, Edgar Jenkins, Sr. and Lilly (Shoemaker) Jenkins. After graduating from Trap Hill High School in 1959 and National Meat Cutting School in 1960, Eddie Married his high school sweetheart, Lina Lilly, who passed away, January 4, 2009. They had two children, Rhonda and Daniel. Rhonda married Bruce Brown and gave Eddie two grandchildren, Timothy and Ashley. Daniel married Kendra Jain and gave Eddie one grandchild, Kristina. Edgar was a great-grandfather to Jackson, Noah and Lilly Brown and Gabriella and Matthew Jeffery. Eddie leaves behind one brother Thomas Jenkins and his wife Diana. Eddie was blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins and sister-in-laws. He has many wonderful friends through the years. Eddie loved to sing and play music on his guitar and banjo. He sang at many churches through the years. He had attended churches in Beckley, Eccles Church of God and Bolt Church of God. The last 2.5 years were spent at Harper Mills Nursing Home, after suffering a debilitating stroke. He loved those who took such good care of him, they became like family. Service to celebrate Eddie life will held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 2PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home-5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, WV 25801. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Brown and Rev. Larry Lilly, along with singing by Rick Lilly. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bowers Hospice House-454 Cranberry Dr, Beckley, WV 25801. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
