Dixie Lee Harvey

Dixie Lee Harvey, 79, of Oak Hill, passed away peacefully at her home on January 6, 2023.

Born February 27, 1943 in Amigo; she was the middle of nine siblings born to the late Lonza and Mabel Meadows.

Dixie was a lifelong resident of Southern West Virginia; she helped service the communities fashion needs at Harvey’s Fashions for many years, she was a realtor for Century 21; she was a salesperson for Beckley Home Show, Fleetwood Homes, and Freedom Homes. She was very proud of her son and daughter who are both Doctors (dentist and doctor of education) and of her grandchildren; she was passionate about her family and friends; she loved her pets and all animals. When she was younger she loved music and dancing with her brother, Bob.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Sizemore and Caroline Vance; and a brother, Bob Meadows.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Greg Harvey and wife, Shawna of Beckley and Jamie Richmond and husband, Preston of Shady Spring; grandchildren, Dylan Harvey and wife, Eleni of Charlotte, NC, Jagger Harvey of Beckley, and Lennon Harvey of Beckley; step-grandchildren, Jackson Hale and Presley Hale of Beckley; brothers, Sherman Meadows and wife, Naomi of Daniels and Burlis Meadows of Prosperity; sisters, Imorene Barron of Hurricane, Sandy Trent and husband, Dwight of Shady Spring and Donna Morris and husband, Larry of Beckley; many nieces and nephews; extended family, friends, and her two cats, Loki and Lucy.

Services to celebrate the life of Dixie Lee Harvey will be held 2:00PM Monday, January 16, 2023 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Following the services, Dixie will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
