Mr. David J. Windell

David J. Windell, went home to be with his Lord on February 8, 2023. He was born September 26, 1949 in Hinton WV. He moved to Newport News, VA to work as a ship builder. He retired after over 35 years of service.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Raines) Windell; his parents, Fred and Evelyn Wendell; and a sister, Mandy Baker.

Surviving is his daughter, Doris “Becky” Windell and companion, Will Cox; son, David Windell and wife, Joyce; brother, William Wendell and wife, Sharon; sisters, Anna Taylor and husband, Lloyd, Kathy Justus and husband, John, Patty Dotson and husband, Bobby, Brenda Clark and husband, Chuck, Shelby Johnson and husband, Mike; as well as numerous grandchildren; and ex-wife, Beverley Windell.

Services to celebrate the life of David J. Windell will be private. Following the services, David will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Rusty Davis, Brandon Gratin, Lloyd Taylor, Rodney Workman, Jasper Tawney, and David Windell will be serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Pastor Cecil Smith, Pine Lodge staff, Sam Stanley LPN a, Natasha Roberts LPN, and Crystal Talbert CNA, the Beckley ARH Hospital Staff on 3rd and 4th Floors, and Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
