Claude Hardy Stover, age 81, of Artie, WV, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House. Born on May 23, 1939 in Colcord, WV, he was the son of the late Howard Stover and Maudie Jarrell Stover.
Mr. Stover was a hardworking and dedicated man. He has three passions in life which include coon hunting, working in his garden and sawing all types of wood. In addition to his passions, he loved and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Maudie Stover; his granddaughter, Kyndra Stover; and his five brothers and five sisters. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Steven Claude Stover and his wife, Anna, Glenn Alan Stover and his wife, Rhonda, Billy Jay Stover and his wife, Gina, and Jennifer Taylor and her husband, Clinton; grandchildren, Stephanie Lipford, Gregory Steven Stover and wife, Reba, Bethany Stover, Alan Stover, Clayton Stover, Wyatt Stover, Alana Hamrick, Cheyanne Stover, Hanna Stover, Brooke Hemstreet, Connor Hemstreet, and Geonna Taylor; great-grandchildren, Karlie Allison, Mikenly Lipford, Layla Stover, and Moxley Stover; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Preacher Joe Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, the family and the staff of Blue Ridge Funeral Home ask that those who attend the services wear proper facial coverings and practice social distancing at all times.
