Charles E Lane

Charles Earnest Lane, of Beckley West Virginia, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Bowers Hospice House on August 26th, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born in Pemberton, West Virginia on September 15, 1939 to Charles and Merle Lane.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, wife Sandra, daughter Kimberly, brother-in-law- George Wesley and nephew Brian Keaton.

Charles enjoyed coaching youth sports, involving his sons and grandson which included baseball at Beckley Little League and Babe Ruth, he also coached basketball at the YMCA.

Charles was a dedicated worker at E.I DuPont, Conoco, Sentinel Transportation for over 40 years. Upon retirement, he still enjoyed being on the road transporting cars for Beckley Auto Mall while meeting new people and making new friends.

Charles will be remembered for his sense of humor and love and dedication to his family.

Charles is survived by his two sons Greg (Shelby), and Phil (Dawn). His four grandchildren: Matthew (Taylor), Emily (Jack), Cameron, and Ashlee. His many nieces and nephews. One great grandson Jensen and his dog Dixie.

Services to celebrate the life of Charles Earnest Lane will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home located at 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, WV, 25801.

Friends may gather with the family at 11:00 am for Visitation. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 pm with entombment following immediately.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Bowers Hospice House.
