Carolyn Eleanor Jones

Carolyn “Eleanor” Jones of Beckley died at Bowers Hospice House on July 22, 2014 at 12:25am following a long illness. Born on February 16, 1947 in McAlpin, WV. She was the daughter to the late William “Pete” Goins and Leola Imogene Wenger Goins formerly of Backus Mountain. Also preceding in death was her companion over 20 years, Gary “Sapp” Mills on October 30, 2013. She had been employed at Beckley Hospital for many years before becoming disabled. She loves cooking, camping, and enjoyed the company of her dog, Pudgie. Those left to cherish her memory include only daughter, DeAnna McKinney and husband Johnny of Beckley, which all who were close to her know he was her number one and could count on him for everything she needed or wanted up until the very end; two grandchildren, Brandi Bragg and husband Todd of Seattle, WA, and Nicholas McKinney, at home- they were the reason she fought so hard up until the very end; two great grandchildren, Addyson and Christian Bragg; 3 brothers, Williams Eugene “Bill” Goins and his wife Sherry of Beckley, Jackie Goins and wife Anita of Crab Orchard, and Charles Goins and wife Lisa of Beckley; also a host of nieces and nephews she cherished and also recognizing a special friend, Barbara Cox of Crab Orchard that helped her in the end when she needed it most. Services to celebrate the life of Eleanor will be conducted at 2pm Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Lowell Black officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 1pm until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
