Carol Joan Arthur

Carol Joan Arthur, 73 years of age, entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 16, 2018 at her home in Chapin, SC. Born on June 17, 1944 in Prosperity, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ora Lee and Virginia Castless Lovelace.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Locklay and Barbara Boyd; and her brothers, Leroy Lovelace, Paul Lovelace, Harold Lovelace, Tommy Lovelace and Bill Lovelace

She is survived by her children, Nena Beaver and her fiancé, Rex Lehew, C.W. Duncan, III, and Sharon Humphrey and her husband, Charles; grandchildren, Joshua S. Beaver and his wife, Andrea, Michael G. Beaver and his wife, Ashley, Chad A. Beaver, Heather Kuehn and her husband, Zac, Haley Mooney and her husband, Jeremy, and Zac Humphrey; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mae Harvey and Susie Cantrell; brothers, Charles Lovelace and Jim Lovelace; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Arthur was a very loving and giving mother to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed painting, coloring and had a passion for cooking and baking. She loved to help people, having volunteered at the Senior Center in Chapin, Chapin Baptist Church and Marmet Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:30 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Mitchell Barley officiating. Burial will follow in the Tower Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Following the graveside service, a reception will follow in the catered events room of Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
