Carl Allen "Fred" Hensley

Carl Allen "Fred" Hensley, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Beckley. Born on November 6, 1943 in Slab Fork, WV, he is the son of the late James Robert Hensley and Dolly Alfreda Rowe Hensley.

Carl served in the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict and stationed in Fort Hamilton, NY. He loved “his music”. He and his friends had their band sessions playing at the VA Hospital, area nursing homes and for parties and reunions. He was a good Christian man who was helpful, kind, loving and compassionate to everyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Hensley; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Daniel and her husband, Phillip; son, Scott Hensley and his wife, Regina; daughter, Lenora Hensley and her fiancé, Jake; grandchildren, Josie and Ethan Hensley, and Madison Daniel; many nieces and nephews; and his special longtime friend, Don Collins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, Monday, October 8, 2018 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 8th in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Doug Walls. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service in the Garden of Prayer in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will honor Mr. Hensley as pallbearers.
