Bryan "Scottie" Scott McCoy

Bryan Scott McCoy, 58, of Coal City, passed away November 5, 2022.

Bryan was born March 20, 1964 in Charleston, WV; he was a son of the late Everette Keith McCoy and Reba Jean Brown McCoy.

In addition to his parents, Bryan was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary McCoy, Paul McCoy, and Randy McCoy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Crystal Patterson; siblings, Mark McCoy, Allen McCoy, Matthew McCoy, Phillip McCoy, Sherry Gosnell, and Denise Miller.

Those who had the pleasure of meeting “Scottie” would know that he was one of the kindest souls around; he'd have given the shirt off his back for you. Scottie didn't have much and never wanted more; he was incredibly humble. Not a single person could have crossed paths with him and not have loved him. He loved to talk! Talking was his favorite, second to sweets. Cakes and pies and everything nice... that man had a sweet tooth. His sister Sherry's banana pudding being at the very top. He was a free spirit... A stubborn, free spirit who had a true love for the earth and the things in it.

Friends may gather with the family from 10:00AM until 1:30PM Monday, November 14, 2022 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C Byrd Drive Beckley. A Celebration of Remembrance Service will be held beginning at 1:30PM Monday.
