It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce on February 1, 2024. He died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at the Bowers Hospice House. Bruce was a truly remarkable man who touched the lives of many with his incredible sense of humor & caring nature. He had a unique gift for making people laugh & feel special, brightening up any room he entered. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Bender, siblings Sheryl Emerson & Rick Bender. He is survived by his mother Sara Bender, daughter Sarah (Chris) Worley, grandson Owen, stepdaughter Tabitha (Darryl) Atkins, nephew Drew Emerson, brother-in-law Ben Emerson.
Bruce grew up surrounded by love & laughter. He cherished his family dearly & was deeply saddened by the loss of his father, Paul, & his siblings Sheryl Emerson & Rick Bender. Despite his hardships, Bruce's spirit remained resilient, & he continued to spread joy to those around him. Throughout his life, Bruce was known for his generosity & selflessness.
He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, who he called “Big O” and his family. He had a heart of gold & was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His acts of kindness & his ability to make others feel special, will forever be remembered.
As we mourn the loss of Bruce, let us also celebrate the incredible impact he had on our lives. His laughter, his love, & his caring nature will be deeply missed. May his memory live on in our hearts forever. His services will be at Blue Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV on Thursday February 8, 2024, from 5-7pm with funeral services to begin at 7pm.
