Brenda Kay McDaniel, 70, of Beckley and the Pineyview community, went to be with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Monday, November 19, 2018 at her home. Born on July 1, 1948 in Beckley, she is the daughter of the late Cletis Gentry and Louise Ayers Gentry.
Brenda loved crafts and enjoyed going camping. She had a passion for cooking and loved the Holidays where she spent time with her family. She loved her animals, especially her dogs, Lady, Fancy, and Sissy “Baby Girl”. Brenda was well known and loved by all in her community of Pineyview. She was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church and was a member of the first 8th grade graduating class. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Mary and Louis Fanti; and her brother, Roger Ayers.
She is survived by her husband of almost 25 years, Johnnie R. McDaniel, Jr.; daughter, Sonja Jones; son, Louis Harmon and his partner, Brenda Burdette; grandchildren, Eric Keaton, Steven Keaton and his wife, Farris, Lewis “Boo” Jones, Alexis Mills, and Matthew Mills; great-grandchildren, Haley, Katie, Mason, Gregory and Maleah; sister, Linda Gentry White and her husband, Lonnie from Layland, WV; brothers, Frank Ayers and sister-in-law, Diana Ayers from Darlington, SC, and Jimmie Gentry and his wife, Joan from AZ; brother-in-law, Terry McDaniel and his wife, Kim Hall of Hill Top; sister-in-law, Teresa McDaniel of Beckley; mother-in-law, Rose McDaniel of Oak Hill; numerous special nieces and nephews; and extended family and loved ones throughout the area.
A Service to Celebrate Her Life will be held at 3:00 pm., Thursday, November 29, 2018 in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Roger Smith, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
