Bobby Wayne Meadows, 65, of Beaver, passed away August 26, 2017, at Bowers Hospice House. Born September 24, 1951, to the late Orville and Thelma Meadows, he was raised on Irish Mountain. After graduating from Shady Spring High School as valedictorian and later from Concord College, he obtained two Masters Degrees from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. Bobby began his teaching career at Park Jr. High. He later served as principal of Clear Fork High School and finished his career of 36 years as principal of Independence High School, where he was always proud to be a patriot.
Bobby pastored for 32 years. The last 14 of those years at Lick Creek Baptist Church. During this time many souls were saved, the church saw tremendous growth and a fellowship hall was constructed.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a brother, Roy; father and mother-in-law, Claude and Margaret Bane; brothers-in-law, Robert Wingfield, Bill Bane, and David Chapman.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda Bane Meadows; brothers, Jimmy and wife Janice, Ronnie and wife Ethel; sisters, Polly Meadows and companion Jimmy Bragg, Patsy and husband Bill Chalmers and Margie Wingfield. He also leaves sisters-in-law, Judy Bane Chapman, and Kathey Bane; brother-in-law, Larry Bane and wife Sara Jo; nieces and nephews include Drema McBride, Larry Meadows, Patricia Watson, Ray Meadows, Tammy Sheffler, Donna Pedri, Terri Tominich and husband Paul, Lisa Powell and husband Eric, Billy Bane, Susan Ballard, and Kyle Bane.
Bobby loved to garden, travel to his special places and hunt and fish with his special buddies, Poppa, Tom, Larry and Kyle.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Lick Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Green Sulphur Springs (Interstate 64 exit 143) an additional visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 12 pm to 2 pm.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 2 pm at the Lick Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with Evangelist Tim Spencer officiating.
Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be offered to Lick Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Building Fund, P.O. Box 1056, Green Sulphur Springs, WV 25966.
