Bobby Gene Graham

Bradley- Bobby Gene Graham, age 86, of Bradley, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the VA Medical Hospital in Beckley. Born May 24, 1930, in Basin, he was the son of the late Edward William Graham and the late Erma Ellen Mullins Graham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Irene Holliday Graham of 46 yrs, and, and a baby brother, James. Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Anita Ellen Underwood and husband, Douglas of Crow, and Rita Karen Hess of Bradley; three grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Rice and husband, Tyler of Morgantown, Nicholas Gene Underwood of Tampa, FL, and Luke Earl Hess, II of Bradley; one great-grandson, Townes Micah Rice of Morgantown; brother-in-laws, Bobby Holliday and wife, Ellen of Forest Hill, Richard Holliday and wife, Lois of Beckley; sister-in-laws, Betty James and husband, Richard of High Point, NC, Teresa Windsor and husband, Jerry of Bradley, Jane Holliday of Greenville, VA, Jane Holliday of Bradley, Sue Holliday of Bradley, Marybeth Holliday of VA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special camping friends, Ban and Mary Kees, Rossie and Elaine Wilson, II and family, Cecil and Patty Wilson and family, Dave and Ann Nelson and family, Raymond and Sherri Rouzee and family, Judy McNair, Lori and Bubba Word, and many more. Mr. Graham was a faithful member of the Bradley Baptist Church, in addition, loved talking about the Lord. He was a member of the DAV. Mr. Graham served our country in the U.S. Army Division during the Korean War, and was awarded a Purple Heart due to being combat wounded in Korea. He was a former employee of the VA Medical Hospital, where he was the Physical & Correctional Therapist for many years, and retired from there. He loved working there and helping his patients. Mr. Graham loved gardening, camping, hunting, fishing, watching football and baseball. He volunteered at Sherwood Lake for 19 years. He was a graduate of Mullins High School. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 26, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Mike Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Underwood, Luke Hess II, Tyler Rice, Scott Loftus, Brandon Thompson, Ryan Belcher, and Bill Phelps. Friends may gather with the family Monday from 12 – 2 PM at the funeral home.
