Bishop Clarence Linden Brooks, 77 years of age, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on October 4, 1943 in Glen Daniel, WV, he was the son of the late Linden Brooks and Hattie Manning Brooks.
Bishop Brooks was an avid woodworker and loved fishing. He was an active longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Stanaford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brothers, Kenner Brooks, Ira Brooks and Jerry Brooks. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Roop Brooks; his children, Clarence Linden Brooks, II and his wife, Lura, Christopher Jason Brooks and his wife, Letitia, Courtney Brooks Shumway and her husband, Peter, and Candace Linette Wilkinson and her husband, Scott; grandchildren, Kayla Brooks, Thomas Brooks, Taylor Brooks, Ariana Brooks, Tatiana Brooks, Jason Brooks, Jackson Brooks, Logan Brooks, Nicholas Shumway, Riley Shumway, Mattex Shumway, Zoe Shumway, Regan Wilkinson, Kenzie Wilkinson and Cole Wilkinson; sisters, Truda Blaylock, Lutisha Cantley, Meta Belcher and Linda Daniel; brothers, Estil Brooks and Lawrence Brooks; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Bishop Phillip Polk officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hope Mausoleum of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
