William “Bill” Samuel Rutledge, 80, of Beckley, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 following a long illness. He was the son of the late Okey Rutledge and Irene Sawyers Rutledge. Born September 23, 1936 in Backus Mountain, West Virginia. Bill was a member of Mt. Hope Christian Church and the Beckley Moose Lodge. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed going to car shows, showing antique cars, traveling and being with his family and friends. He retired from CONSOL Energy after 27 years of service. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Rutledge; sisters, Mary Burnette and Mildred Rutledge. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Gail Painter Rutledge of Beckley; step sons, Lee Facello and wife Robin of Stanaford and James Facello and wife Pam of Prosperity; step daughters, Lisa Radford and husband Harold of Prosperity and Lydia Cox and husband Jeff of Prosperity; sister, Arbutus Thomas and husband Frank of Richmond, VA; six step grandchildren, three step great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 12-1pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 1pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 with Pastor Buddy Goins officiating.
