Betty Louise Martin Kale, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2022 following an extended illness.
She was born April 1, 1931 in Beckley; she was a daughter of the late Marvin Curtis Martin and the late Hazel Baldwin Martin.
Mom loved the outdoors; she loved mowing the yard and couldn’t wait to plant her flowers every spring. She was an awesome seamstress and she made all of her daughter’s clothes including prom gowns. She always put her family first. Her home and her family were her pride and joy. In her later years she enjoyed completing word puzzles.
She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and worked for Appalachian Power until she married and had a family, then she became a full time wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a Lifetime Member of the First Baptist Church of Beckley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 71 years, Henry I. Kale, Jr. of Beckley; daughter, Dianna Link Bailey and husband, Larry of Winfield, WV; son, Gary Kale and wife, Tammie of Winfield; grandson, Christopher Link and wife, Kristie of West Palm Beach, FL; grandson, Derek Kale of Winfield, WV; grandson, Matthew Link of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Brittany Sauls and husband, Cody of Mooresville, NC; sister, Delores Darby McGhee of Columbus, OH; niece, Andrea Darby of Columbus, OH, niece, Mindy Loughead and husband, Jeff of Darien, IL; great-grandson, Dylan Link of Hillsville, VA, great-granddaughter, Haylea Link of Galax, VA; great-grandson, Jaxon Sauls of Morresville, NC; extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Betty Louise Martin Kale will be held 12:00pm Thursday, November17, 2022 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Doc Adkins officiating. Following the services Betty will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may gather with the family from 11:00AM until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
