Betty Joe Cox

Betty Joe Cox, 87 of Shady Spring, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Betty was born on April 12, 1932 to the late James E. Moye and Ethel Meador Moye.

Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Spring. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her houseplants and watching them grow.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Freddie R. Cox; two sons-in-law, Pete Carper and Robert L. Lilly; and one grandson, Robert E. Lilly.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children Barry G. Cox and wife Vickey of Shady Spring, Fredia Lilly Shrewsberry and husband Warren of Shady Spring, Brenda Carper Dunkle and husband Thomas of Scott Depot, Allen R. Cox and wife Angie of Daniels; Chris J. Cox and wife Michelle of Shady Spring; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West Charleston, WV 25387-2536.
