Arnold was a retired coalminer with 36 years of service. Following his retirement he delivered newspapers for The Register-Herald, he loved delivering papers. He was a man of many talents that could fix anything. He loved his family dearly and was very proud of his grandchildren. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by his step-father, Warren Meadows, five infant sons; grandson, Kenneth Paul Hinzman II, and a great-great-grandson, Jayce Reid; and a sister-in-law, Shelvia Kidd.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 years, Gracie Jane Hylton Kidd; children, Rebecca Hinzman and husband, David of Beckley, WV, Anita Jo Hinzman and husband, Kenneth of Martinsburg, WV, Arnold “Bert” Kidd III and wife, Helen of Crab Orchard, WV; eleven grandchildren, Michelle Ballard and husband, Mark, Crystal Hinzman, David “D-Ray” HInzman and wife, Melanie, Kerri Hinzman, Amanda Mills and husband, Blake, Kristina Tucker and fiancée, Ross, Kody Hinzman, Kennadee Hinzman, Arnold “BJ” Kidd IV and wife, Sara, Jesse Kidd and fiancée, Rachel and Faith Kidd; brother, Charles Kidd of Virginia Beach, VA; nineteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Star. Also, a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather with the family Thursday, December 3th from 6 – 8 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 4, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, WV. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that donations of sympathy be sent to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
The family would like to express our gratitude to Hospice of Southern West Virginia and the staff of Davita Moutaineer Dialysis for their special care.
